The "Pinch" Blepharoplasty

The 'pinch bleph' is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that is appropriate for individuals with excess skin under their lower eyelids.

Performed under local anesthesia, this procedure takes about one hour.* The area is first injected with local anesthesia. An incision is made just under the lower eyelashes, and the excess skin is 'pinched' and trimmed. The incision is closed with dissolving sutures; there are no bandages. Patients experience some swelling and bruising which usually subsides in 5 to 7 days.

Patients are delighted with this quick and affordable procedure. As one patient said, "I no longer have that tired look, and my friends say I look much younger."

* The 'pinch bleph' is often performed with upper eyelid and/or brow/forehead surgery and in this situation is performed under general anesthesia in the Operating Room.
